There’s something about this photoshoot that makes me feel like I’m in 1930′s New York & I absolutely loved every moment I spent with Jess & T. Besides the fact that no human can find fault in the perfection that is Jess & T, I loved how everything came together so beautifully during our photo session; the attire, the broody weather & the unquestionable love that was present throughout it all. Jess & T’s engagement has a very special spot in my photographer’s heart.

Sarah & Russell are a legitimately nice, down-to-earth & awesome couple who I had the pleasure of photographing during this engagement session. Every couple is so different in front of the camera & I love being able to capture the unique love that two people share & that no other couple can truly replicate.

I’m not so much of a morning person, but I do get excited about morning photo sessions; there’s nothing like that soft, glorious morning light. This engagement session was such a nice way to get to know Maddie & Rowan and we had a pretty awesome time exploring the Brisbane CBD together. Love my job!

JESS+MATT WEDDING

Sometimes life doesn’t go as planned, & sometimes weddings don’t either. Matt & Jess had booked in a beautiful open stone chapel surrounded by rolling, lush hills & had organised a gorgeous country-themed outdoor reception furnished with haystacks & vintage goodness. We visited all the locations, organised all the different spots we wanted to take photos in & hoped for good weather. But as much as QLD is the ‘Sunshine State’, it is also the state of floods & torrential, unexpected rain; all of a sudden the stone chapel was flooded, the roads blocked, no sunshine & definitely no outdoor country themed reception. Our plans were in vain… & yet, the best part is, that even though we didn’t get a country, rolling lush hills & stone chapel wedding, with God’s divine intervention, he provided Matt & Jess with another chapel that somehow was still available, & we got ourselves a chic rock’n'roll, 1950s, Coca-Cola lovin’, gumboots & umbrella’s in the rain wedding instead & collected memories we didn’t plan, but that we adore whole-heartedly!

I wanted to especially thank my amazing husband for being a massive help on this day – he bore the wet weather, stood in the rain for me & covered me & my cameras with umbrellas for hours on end. He’s pretty amazing :) Mostly though, this day couldn’t have turned out so beautifully without God, I have no words to describe how little control we had over the circumstances of this day, & how much God played a part in putting it all together again for us.

I am so entirely blessed to have the job that I do – blessed to see any two people united in marriage; family & friends coming together to celebrate one common cause & a new family being created. To see happiness, laughter & new beginnings – someones story, journey, love, prayers answered. I’m so blessed to travel, to find new places, to meet new people & then to show everyone everything I saw, how I saw it & how beautiful it was.

And I’m so blessed to know people like Cristina & Ovi; to see, hear, witness & know that they have committed every day of their lives to one another, to God & to their family, as one.

I also really wanted to thank the beautiful Alis, for helping me out on the day & being such a great reflector woman :)

Jess & Mani are two people off simple, elegant & exquisite taste. After seeing what amazing creations & designs Jess (& her friend Lorraine) had put together for her bridal shower, I knew to expect great things off her wedding & I was yet again left without words! Every detail was pure grace & style with a beautiful finale at Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast. And despite our hurdles with parking in the city, we had a lot of fun making our way through the CBD & even managed to play a little soccer! I’m so honoured to have witnessed this amazing couple begin this beautiful new chapter together.

ANGELEAH+PHILLIP WEDDING

Angeleah & Phillip opened up a whole new world of meaning for the word ‘wedding’ when they asked me to photograph theirs. As a wedding photographer & as someone who is a part of so many weddings each year, the morning seemed familiar enough at the beginning, I went to the groom’s house & took the photos I expected & planned to take & then I went to the bride’s house where the first 20 minutes went as I expected them to go. But then we made our way outside the house (where I had more familiar plans & expectations), only to find waiting for us musicians playing traditional Greek music & Angeleah’s whole family encircled in anticipation – cheering & dancing & clapping! Bride, father, sister, mother, grandfather & more all broke into traditional Greek dancing & into one of the most beautiful bridal preparations I have ever seen & felt a part off. To see how each family member willingly gave their blessing to Angeleah, to see what great expectations they each had for her future marriage & with what willingness they showed their investment & acceptance into a greater family, was awe-inspiring to me. The rest of the day was filled with what I can only call pure bliss & sunshine – Angeleah & Phillip had a happiness & excitement radiating from them the entire day – nothing could phase them, hinder them or hamper the beginning to an extraordinary life together. Angeleah & Phillip, on my behalf, thank you & may God bless each day ahead of you with the same (if not more) happiness you let me witness on the first of many!

LAVINIA+EMANUEL WEDDING

I loved Lavinia & Emanuel’s wedding! There was so much creativity, inspiration, personal touches, meaningful moments, unpredictable weather (that never bothered us), family support, fun, spontaneity, laughter, interesting smells (the bridal party will be with me on this one), love & best of all, God, who answered our request for overcast weather, who was in every crevice & crack of the day and who Lavinia & Emanuel made the foundation to their wonderful beginning. This is why I loved Lavinia & Emanuel’s wedding & as for everything else, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

What I love about Cristina & Jared is that they are two completely different personalities from two different cultures that have come together so beautifully; Cristina has so much passion for life & Jared brings a lightheartedness to every situation – I’ve loved being a part of Cristina & Jared’s journey towards marriage & am so honoured to have witnessed this beginning.
